Workshop: The Art of Influencing.
This morning, we hosted a powerful workshop on The Art of Influencing for managers and administrators from the NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre , as part of the training programme I developed.
The incredible Cheryl Thornton
delivered the session with warmth and expertise, creating a safe, reflective space for sharing and learning. Together, we explored the Wheel of Influencing, deepening our understanding of our personal influencing styles and the diverse stakeholders we engage with in our professional roles.
It was not only a thought-provoking learning experience but also a valuable chance to connect as colleagues—something we don’t often get due to hybrid working and being spread across different organisations.
My key takeaway? The importance of being intentional—pausing to reflect, plan, and prepare my approach to influence more effectively.
What reaffirmed a strength I already recognised? Building meaningful relationships through curiosity is at the heart of effective influencing—and it’s something that comes naturally to me.
A truly enriching and inspiring day.
Huge thanks to Cheryl for such a fantastic and insightful workshop! 🩵
